Idlis and dosa’s are a very regular breakfast fare in our house, i like preparing different chutneys for it instead of the same green coconut chutney. This is a very similar to the regular chutney but with the addition of some extra ingredients it will taste completely different. This is my daughters fav. chutney and she loves to have it with idli’s.
1/2 cup grated coconut
2 garlic cloves
4 curry leaves
3 Pudina leaves
Coriander leaves some sprigs
Phutana/dalia 3 tbsp
R.chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
less than 1/4 cup of water for grinding
Oil 1/2 tsp
Udad Dal 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves 4
Dry R.chilli 1
Grind all the ingredients from coconut to salt.
Add little water to help the grinding process.
The Quantity of water will depend on the consistency of the chutney you require.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
For Tempering heat oil in a small pan and heat oil,Add udad dal, mustard, curry leaves and R.chiili.
Pour over the chutney and have it along with Idlis or Dosa’s.
