Mango Jam

MANGO”, the king of fruit, the favorite fruit of most of the people i have met, but here i confess that i am not a huge fan of mango, but my daughter is very fond of mangoes n will have atleast 1 everyday. what do you do when u have huge bunch of mango fast ripening and to put it to good use  i  prepared Jam. I have not prepared any fruit jam at home till now but gave a try n it came out quiet nice.

Mango Jam

3 Ripe Mangoes ( I Used the malgoba Variety)

3/4 Cup Sugar

1/2 Lime

Peel cube & blend mangoes to a puree.I got around 2 1/2 cups of puree.

Transfer to a thick bottomed pan and add sugar and cook on a medium flame for 10 mins.

Add juice of 1/2 lime and again cook till it becomes thick. I must have cooked it for at least 30 mins on a slow flame.

I dint do any actual test to see whether the jam is set, i just took it off the flame when the qty was reduced to less than 1/2.

when warm store it in a bottle & refrigerate it.

My daughter was happy to eat spoonfuls off it when it was ready. The next day i checked the jam & it was nicely set.

  1. Yay! Pinky, I am so glad you decided to start your own blog after all.:) Welcome!

The mango jam looks great and I like how you have photographed it on your little girl’s palms.

Good luck for the new journey.
